Notes: In the pantheon of twentieth-century guitar makers no one occupies a more
exalted position than John D'Angelico. His instruments regularly command among the highest prices on the vintage market because
of their rarity, their distinctive melodious tone, the beauty of their design and the unsurpassed level of craftsmanship. Still
today we see the bequest living on through the effect that his pioneering effort had and this New Yorker Solid Body
is one of the latest and most unique pieces added to the D'Angelico line.
Materials: 13,75" solid mahogany body with arched back, a highly figured, bookmatched flamed maple arched top, single cutaway,
5 ply black and white binding on front of body, Polyurethane Finish, 1 3/8" body depth on outer edge, backside with matching
mahogany plate covers. One piece Mahogany neck, multi-ply black and white neck and headstock binding, 24 3/4" scale, neck width
at nut 1 11/16", Ebony fingerboard with 22 frets, neck joins at 16th fret, MOP split block inlays, MOP D'Angelico Logo and
New Yorker inlays on headstock, Rosewood overlay with MOP diamond inlay on back of headstock.
Hardware: Two humbucking Kent Armstrong pickups mounted, 2 volume, 2 tone controls, 1/4” output jack, adjustable
roller type bridge, Bigsby vibrato, stairstep pickguard, Gold hardware, 3 position toggle switch on upper bout,
Grover imperial tuner, stairstep truss rod cover.
Facts: People may be suspicious about a D'Angelico solidbody guitar if they haven't played one before but quality reveals
that this is the Rolls Royce of solid body guitars.
Condition: New.
Playability: Lightning fast ebony fretboard and a very nice and comfortable C shaped neck make for a comfy playing.
Tone: The mahogany body and neck give it a big fat tone, a gorgeous flame maple top adds snap. This puppy sings like a bird,
with totally balanced tone and sustain that make it the perfect guitar for anything from loud Jazz to screamin' Rock & Roll.
