Notes: The former Gibson artisans Marvin Lamb, Jim Deurlo, Bill Paige and J.P Moats founded the Heritage Company in the mid 80ties. From that point a competition between Heritage and Gibson began. The goal was to bring back the glory of the good ol' days of Kalamazoo and by the end of the decade the Heritage guitars already had a reputation of being certainly as good and maybe even better than Gibson guitars. Meanwhile, Heritage celebrated their 25th anniversary.

A registration number was noted on the back of the headstock for the first thousand Golden Eagles and this guitars bears the number "117"

To Summarize: Handbuilt by former Gibson artisans in the old Kalamazoo plant, the Golden Eagle is the flagship of the Heritage line. As an equivalent to the Gibson L-5C, the Golden Eagle shares the same materials and specifications with at least the same quality as its Gibson cousin. An elegant single pickup jazz box with outstanding flamed maple throughout and a handmade classic at an unbeatable price. The Heritage Company is a great asset to the guitar world.
