	Notes: To those of you with a passion for fine musical instruments, few names rouse as much reverence as that of John D’Angelico. His creations possessed aesthetic and tonal qualities that were so sought after, they would leave a profound imprint on the history of stringed instruments. D’Angelico’s work still represents a high mark that contemporary luthiers seek to achieve and being entrusted to oversee production for the current stewards of the D’Angelico name is not something I accepted lightly. Part of the endeavor involved reworking and redefining the existing product line. It also required updating methods of production. Additionally, we are perpetuating the D’Angelico spirit of innovation by developing new models. Are we proceeding in a way that would have pleased the old master? I hope so. I know I’m privileged having worked for a company who is intent on honoring the legacy and committed to giving one hundred and ten percent towards attaining the highest levels of quality. ------------------------------ Bill Comins, Luthier ----------------------------- Materials: Body made of flamed Maple top, back and sides, 16“ wide at lower bout, 1.75" deep measured at rims, interior structure with sustain block, a two-piece Maple neck with center stripe, straight-end Ebony fretboard with 12" radius and pure mother-of-pearl block inlays, nut width 1 11/16“, scale lenghth 24.75", 22 frets, multi-ply ivoroid/black binding on top, back, headstock and fingerboard, single bound f-holes, polished bone nut, wooden volume & tone control knobs deco style. Hardware: Gold plated hardware, 2 Kent Armstrong vintage humbucker, tune-o-matic bridge, available with D'Angelico stairstep or stoptail piece, Grover Super Rotomatic tuners, truss rod cover Aluminum Stairstep. Facts: The main differences - just to name a few - between the predecessor EX-DC and the new EX-DC is firstly the improved neck angle, secondly the use of beautiful flamed Maple for the top and thirdly the redesigned headstock and Excel emblem. Condition: New Playability: The neck profile is a smooth and comfortable C. It plays without any effort and feels like a glove. Tone: This axe has great sustain and is the perfect choice for rock stuff, blues and some jazz as well. Available Colors: natural, amber, tobacco sunburst, 3-tone sunburst, wine red, transparent black. Natural -pictured on right side- is currently in stock. Case: Hardshell case included. Setup: This instrument is strung with round wound strings (0.10-0.48). The guitar is inspected and tested. To Summarize: Bill Comins' redesign of the EX-DC was done with great precision in detail work. The result is the new EX-DC, a very attractive guitar for a reasonable price. Through these finely crafted models the spirit and the legacy of the legendary originals keeps on being alive.
