Notes: The Gibson
Company has a very long tradition of making blues guitars.
To name a few, with the pre-war models from around 1930 such
as L00, L1 , L2, Nick Lucas and the SJ Models Gibson has applied
a standard with their fabulous flattop guitars to all other
manufacturer.
Materials: Solid Spruce top, flamed solid maple sides,
one-piece arched maple back, 24 3/4“ scale, Mahogany
neck with 20 frets, jumbo style body with rounded cutaway,
Rosewood bridge, tortoise pickguard, single bound Rosewood
fingerboard with pearl parallelogram inlay, single bound blackface
peghead with two handled vase over dot pearl inlay with Gibson
pre-war script logo.
Hardware: Onboard Accu-Voice preamp with Volume, Tone,
Voice (Pop to Jazz) and a Notch Filter to prevent feedback.
The Accu-Voice preamp is giving you complete control over
the instrument's dynamics. Poti buttons can be lifted for
better access. It has two output jacks, one for guitar cable
unbalanced - and a mic cord balanced.
Facts: This Blues King Electro was made in a beautiful
sunburst finish in 1994 in Montana USA as a jubilee model
of Gibson's 100 Years Anniversary. In terms of size it is
like a J-185 EC. Not to get confused with the EC-30 Blues
King Electro or the L-00 Blues King.
Condition: The guitar has mostly been stored
in its case and it is in perfect condition with no play wear,
the binding has yellowed a little bit. Absolute Collectors
Condition.
Playability: String height and nut string spacing are
perfect and it plays like butter. The neck profile is a slight
V shape. The neck is straight as an arrow and buzz-free throughout
the entire fretboard. This guitar is very versatile due to
the cutaway design.
Tone: Unplugged, the guitar is very responsive to any
playing style. Single notes project very well nicely balanced
all over the fretboard and chords sound full and rich. This
guitar is unbelievable when plugged in. Due to the Accu-Voice
Preamp there is a massive range of sounds available with great
tone and feedback control and they all sound remarkably clean.
Case: The top of the original brown Gibson Montana case is arched
and it is very sturdy.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge
bronze strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter
or heavier gauge strings, according to your preference. The
entire guitar is inspected, fingerboard and bridge oiled,
body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
To Summarize: The Blues King Electro delivers that
low down, early blues feel, so gritty that on a hot, humid
summer night you'll start thinking the Mississippi Delta runs right
through your back yard. Surely, with this guitar you can dig
the blues and much more...
